#1036 closed Bug (invalid)

make "sort by activity" cumulative between sessions

Reported by: jidanni Owned by: charles
Priority: Low Milestone: None Set
Component: GTK+ Client Version: 1.21
Severity: Minor Keywords:

Description

One problem with e.g., "sort by activity": it is not remembered session to session.

E.g., upon restarting transmission, all torrents are equally zero active.

So last session's previously very active torrent is now buried again. Especially yucky for us transmission -p users.

Therefore why not remember how the torrents stacked up between sessions, and use that as the default starting state instead of just all = 0 for several relevant sorting methods.

  • Summary changed from remember how torrents stacked up between sessions to when restarting in "sort by activity" mode, use previous session's activity as a secondary key

I really don't like this idea. Activity should be a live snapshot, not cumulative.
