A real Details>Files progress bar that doesn't just grow from the left

Here's a luxury item: let's say we checkmark a song, Well, as we know the preceding and following songs will also be partially downloaded.

However the "progress" bar always shows them getting filled in from the left, implying that we always have the beginning of each partially downloaded song.

But this is only true for the following song, not the preceding song!

So please have the progress bar filled in from the actual part that is getting filled in, so we can see what we have of partially downloaded items is the beginning, middle, end, or several slices.

Too much fuss you say? Well then as indeed when checkmarked songs chunks are fully downloaded, the preceding song would be filled in partially from the right, then at least grow it from the right as it grows.

Why is this important? Because those songs that have their left edge filled in genuinely are ones that we can listen to, albeit for a few minutes only (getting an idea if we should change our mind and checkmark them too for download.)

You might say "you are smart enough to know that the preceding song cannot be listened to. WONTFIX." However there is also the case of checked-unchecked-checked: how much of the middle song did we download? Is there enough of a starting sliver for us to bother trying to hear? The progress bar could reveal the actual situation it if it didn't just blindly fill in from the left.

The standard progress bar is just that, a progress bar of total progress. On the Mac version the pieces bar can show you which parts are downloaded (set the component for the version you are talking about if this isn't applicable).

If you're not talking about the main window's progress bar, you're going to have to be more specific.

I am saying perhaps in year 2010 when everything else is done, you could work on it.

The standard progress bar in the gtk+ client's Deatils>Files tab is just that, a progress bar of total progress.
