#1139 closed Bug (invalid)

Add missing ALT keyboard shortcuts

Reported by: jidanni Owned by: charles
Priority: Lowest Milestone: None Set
Component: GTK+ Client Version: 1.22
Severity: Trivial Keywords:

Checking keyboard accessibility, I discarded my mouse and used ALT e p which got me as far as Edit>Prefernces, whereupon one notices a "automatically add torrents from" choice, but it lacks its shortcut letter.

One could tab to it. However there remains the question of how to enter the underlying "peers" and "network" tabs on this and other menus.

So one sees that the entire menu structure should be examined for missing keyboard shortcut tabs -- any place that can be gotten to with a mouse should also be accessible with only a keyboard device, not only for disabled users, but also regular users who tire of mouse dependence for every item and sometimes want quick keyboard shortcuts, or whatever they are called.

  • Milestone changed from Sometime to None Set
  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

In the nightly builds, "automatically add torrents from" has the alt-a mnemonic.

If you want to cite examples from the upcoming 1.30 release I'm happy to fix them, but just saying "you need to examine the entire menu structure for missing shortcuts" is silly.

Also: please do not set the milestone unless you are volunteering to submit a patch.

OK. By the way if anyone knows what key press gets to the other "tabs" in the window (here on Debian's 1.22), please tell me.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
