Binary vs SI prefix

Description

From what I can see in the source, speeds and sizes are calculated using powers of 2 (210) rather than powers of 10 (103). As such, I suggest using binary prefixes rather than the ambiguous SI prefixes.

This sed seems to do the needed changes.

find . -name "*.c" | xargs -- sed -i 's/\<\([KMG]\)B/\1iB/g'

We use the binary prefix for consistency with other GTK+ applications as described here.

If g_format_size_for_display() changes to use the SI prefix notation I'd be happy to follow suit, as it's my personal preference too.

I suggest you open up a glib ticket at bugzilla.gnome.org
