#1294 closed Bug (fixed)

Don't auto-delete torrents when adding from Transmissions application support folder.

Reported by: Rich Owned by: livings124
Priority: Normal Milestone: 1.40
Component: Transmission Version: 1.33
Severity: Minor Keywords:
Cc:

Description

When you add torrents from the torrent folder located in ~/Library/Application? Support/Transmission/? and the 'delete torrents when adding' option is set, transmission will delete the torrents from the folder, and on the next launch of transmission all those torrents will not start up again. There should be a check before deleting the torrents to exclude that file.

Fixed in the gtk+ client in r6836.

Changing Component' to Mac Client' to get this ticket on living124's radar. I don't know what his plans are for this ticket on the mac client.

Actually that r6836 commit was kind of stupid. In the gtk+ client it's impossible to add a torrent from the torrents/ directory, since by definition any torrent in that directory is already loaded.

  • Component changed from Mac Client to Transmission
  • Milestone 1.40 deleted
  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

livings124 says that the OS X client behaves in the same way, so I really don't see the use case for this...?

What are the chances of downloading a torrent file, naming it how Transmission does internally (a combination of name and hash), dragging it into the internal torrent location, and opening it?

  • Milestone set to 1.40
  • Resolution invalid deleted
  • Status changed from closed to reopened

The chances are low, but this is simple to fix, so might as well. r6864
