Description
I use Transmission on my laptop; some of the larger torrents are seeding off/downloading to an external hard drive that I tend not to carry to work. At work, though, I sometimes need to use Transmission as well.
Currently, unless I remember to pause before quitting, all the missing torrents get reset to 0 bytes, which means I have to re-verify local data whenever I get back. Would it be possible to automatically pause the torrents on startup if the download directory is missing?
Another solution would be to have an option to pause-all on quit.

This isn't going to happen. Transmission has no way of knowing what paths are external drives and what aren't. Even if it did, it wouldn't be portable across the different platforms that Transmission runs on.
There's already a pause-all on start. you could use that when you first start Transmission after changing locations.
