#1860 closed Bug (invalid)

bandwidth limits in 1.50 completely busted

Reported by: jwz Owned by:
Priority: Normal Milestone: None Set
Component: Transmission Version: 1.50
Severity: Normal Keywords:

I have "total bandwidth" and "upload rate" set to 90KB/s. I have "speed limit" set to 10KB/s and 10KB/s. I am in speed limit mode and have been for 10+ minutes. My upload rate has been fluctuating between 80KB/s and 108KB/s. This is confirmed by the "Network" pane in Activity Monitor.

So I would humbly suggest that the bandwidth-limiting code is completely busted.

Do you have per-torrent limits set, as well?

Oops! Yes, they were set to "unlimited" instead of "global".

But shouldn't speed limit mode take priority over that?

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

Individual speed limits override global limits. Which of the two taking priority could be argued either way, but this is the way Transmission has always done it.
