"Remove Data" does not work

On a power pc architecture, Debian testing. Pinning unstable for transmission-daemon version 1.51-1.

I was seedding a torrent.
Next I decided to remove it. ("Remove data" button)
Later I restarted the daemon.

The removed torrent was leeching again.

The Work Around was to remove from /var/lib/transmission-daemon/info/torrents the useless torrent files.

The "Remove Data" button appears to do nothing at all.
