Description

Whenever a torrent file is auto-added, transmission takes focus from the app you're currently in, which shouldn't happen. Transmission should remain at whatever level it was at when the torrent was auto-added.

In my tests it doesn't grab focus. Are you sure you're using the latest version?

Yes, I updated transmission to 1.52 today, and tested to be sure, though it appears to not be doing it now.

I'm running Plex in full screen so when transmission takes focus, the dock and menubar appear over the top of the full screen video. I should note that I also have growl notifications running, but it is transmission that takes focus.

I'll leave this ticket as closed, continue to test for it and post back if it appears again.

Ok, I've verified multiple times that it happens. I've seen it happen when I'm watching a movie in Plex, TED downloads a torrent file in the background into a watched folder. At the same time that the growl notification saying transmission found a new episode occurs, transmission takes focus from plex.

On interesting thing to note. The menu bar with transmission selected appears as well as the dock, but the transmission window does not. However, if the info window for the torrent is open, that will appear over the top of plex.

I honestly can not replicate this, and there's nothing special with how the windows are being opened. It sounds to me that the problem might be with how Plex takes full screen?

I have Transmission 2.11 and this is still happening. I use Plex 0.9.1 (new version with Plex Media Server).

I still can't replicate this. Are there any issues outside of Plex?

Hi. I'd like to report this same issue, except:

  1. I use boxee, not plex.
  2. I use tvshows, not ted.

Same net result - torrents added to transmission from rss, transmission takes focus on top of my boxee htpc display.

I also have this problem. Using Transmission 2.31 and Boxee. It might be because Boxee and Plex are full screen apps so Transmission pops it out of full screen when it takes focus.

This is something that, afaict, Transmission does not control.
