Description

Title says it all. :-)

(These files are all basic XML property lists with a URL string. Used various places in Leopard and even more extensively in Snow Leopard.)

Unfortunately they're not all XML plists. In fact, the vast majority of .webloc files are resource-fork-based. Try it with a URL dragged out of Safari.

This can definitely get resolved, but it's not as simple as it sounds - implementing resource-fork code is a little obtuse these days.

Replying to bugReporter: So I've started digging in to this again, and found that I don't have a single use-case. In what way would a person end up with a torrent file inside a webloc file? These are generally saved links to a web page, not a torrent file. Do you have an example file or better yet general use case that can be used?

dethbunny: Do you think this should be closed? I've never seen this wanted outside the original request, and implementing it isn't as trivial as I would like.

One could drag a bunch of Download Torrent.weblocs off web pages for later addition to Transmission. Drag and drop won't work but "File->Open torrent address..." will accomplish this for .webloc.
