#2223 closed Enhancement (invalid)

Open Folder should also select the torrent files and folders in Gnome Nautilus

Description

It would be great to take Ticket #859 one step further: In Gnome's Nautilus, the torrent's file(s) should be automatically selected when you ask to "Open Folder" for a torrent.

The same kind of request made of Mozilla here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129219

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

This is a good idea, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it.

We use g_app_info_launch_default_for_uri() to open the torrent files and folders. There doesn't appear to be a way of specifying a selected item in the folder in that framework.

Possibly submit an upstream ticket for GIO at bugzilla.gnome.org?

I'm new to Trac and tbt, but maybe there is another resolution instead of "invalid"? It seems that "good ideas" would get lost this way, even if it is _currently_ not supported upstream. Isn't there some wishlist? No sense in reiventing the wheel, right ;-).

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
