#2436 closed Enhancement (fixed)

Display favicons for trackers in tracker info tab

Description

Show a favicon for each tracker in the tracker tab of the info window. Since a lot of trackers are on a dedicated sub-demain for announcing, it should probably use the www.tracker.com instead of tracker.tracker.com. It could also assume the favicon is favicon.ico - this will speed things up and will be accurate for most addresses. And of course the image should be cached.

A private tracker I visit has the tracker in the tracker.site sub-domain and a different port than the web server. Transmission isn't showing the default globe for this tracker.

We could try more aggressive ways to find the favicon, but I don't think trackers would be happy with any more hits to their sites then a single guess of where the favicon is. The benefit to Transmission isn't worth it.

There should be a better timeout. It's not even showing the place-holder image.

What do you mean? It's showing blank space? That doesn't make much sense - are you sure the favicon on their main page isn't a blank image?
