Description

Hello.

I think that it will be better if Transmission's contextual menu items were sortered like Nautilus' contextual menu items.

For example: Properties item will be the last item, not the second one.

Regards and thanks for this greatful software.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest this and helping to make Transmission better.

I think moving "Properties" next to "Remove" and "Remove and Delete", as suggested here, would cause more problems than it solves.

Please list any other specific changes you have in mind. I don't understand "like Nautilus" in this context because there doesn't seem to be much overlap between Transmission's and Nautilus' context menus.

Ok, I will try to explain it better.

When I said "like Nautilus", I want to say that it would be helpful (at least in my opinion) an order more similar to Nautilus contextual menu, because it will be more similar to GNOME context menus.

I hope that now I explained better.

Regards.

I understand that "like Nautilus" means "more similar to Nautilus"... but what I'm asking for is a specific example of what you would change.

For example, could you list line-by-line what you think Transmission's contextual menu should look like?

Ok, here it goes:

Open folder Set localization -- Start Pause Ask tracker for more peers -- Delete Delete files -- Verify local data Properties

I think this order is more similar to Nautilus order.

Regards.

The GNOME HiG has this to say about the order of popup menu items: http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/stable/menus-types.html.en

Order items on a popup menu as follows:

  • the double-click action for object, when it exists
  • other commands and settings in expected frequency-of-use order
  • transfer commands such as Cut, Copy, and Paste
  • Input Methods, where applicable. Input Methods is provided by GTK+ for supporting alternatives to the keyboard for input (such as used for Japanese, Chinese, and some accessibility technologies).
