#2640 closed Enhancement (wontfix)

transmission-remote missing in Transmission.app os x build

Reported by: andreas Owned by: livings124
Priority: Low Milestone: None Set
Component: Mac Client Version: 1.76+
Severity: Normal Keywords:

Description

Wouldnt it be great if transmission.app could be built and distributed with transmission-remote? either in

Transmission.app/Contents/MacOS or Transmission.app/Contents/Resources

Usecases:

I run transmission on my macmini. With transmission-remote I could make scripts to have custom watchdirs and custom download destinations.

I could also install transmission on my macbook pro and use transmission-remote to connect to transmission on the mini

Because of the design, the remote can't control the Mac gui, so this wouldn't work.

Never mind, you can through RPC. I'm not thinking straight today.

If its impossible its impossible. I understand its a feature request rather than bug report, hence setting low prio and enhancement as type. I fully understand if there's more important stuff to fix at the moment but please leave it open and consider fixing it when there's both time and energy :)

I don't see a need for this, even if possible. The web ui is built in. Few people will use the remote in comparison. I think it's best to keep them separate.

tried xcodebuild -target transmission-daemon and got BUILD SUCCEEDED

but cant find any transmission-daemon or transmission-remote binarys

How do I build and get a transmission-remote on os x?
