#2690 closed Enhancement (invalid)

add torrent by url

Description

if you want to add a torrent, you have to download it locally and then open it in the client. instead you could just paste an url that you copied from a torrent website and the client/core downloads it. i think that is a nice to have feature that makes life a little easier.

As for me, magnet URIs are basically working in GTK+ client with recent SVNs. With magnet URIs you do not have to download torrents at all - torrent's metadata will be fetched from remote clients instead. Surely that's a step forward in convenience and usability of bittorrent protocol.
