Separate Up/Down limits for clients connect via LAN

Description

I have my upload rate limited to optimize my bandwidth, but I also have a 1Gb Ethernet LAN connecting myself with several of my neighbors. They each have their own Internet connections. It would be nice if I could peer with them at full speed and still keep the other connections limited.

I was also thinking that the choke settings could be relaxed a bit for LAN connections. It gets a bit frustrating when I remove the limits, but the peers are choked. LOL

I have to agree. I think that this would prove useful for a lot of people. This becomes more obvious considering the use of Transmission in places with large local area networks. Most local area networks have much higher bandwidth capacities than the wide area networks they may connect to.

I don't think this feature will cause much bloat and it will be very much appreciated in situations where the user is connected to one or more peers in his local area network.

There should be a distinction between the speed limits of the local area network and the wide area network. Many people either have a smaller bandwidth capacity with their wide area network or get charged a specific rate depending on how much data is transferred.

Thank you.
