#2883 closed Bug (invalid)

Network activity without active transfers

Reported by: fwr Owned by: livings124

Description

Hello,

Transmission seems to send and receive some data from a lot of hosts even after deleting all the transfers and restarting both the program and a computer. Why is this happening? I'm measuring network activity with Little Snitch.

Two possible causes:

(1) you have DHT turned on, so Transmission is still making itself an active node in the DHT network

(2) you haven't changed your port number, so peers are still trying to connect to you, and Transmission handshakes long enough to tell the peers we don't have the torrent in question.

Neither of these causes is a bug.

Ah, that's right. Sorry for creating the unnecessary confusion and messing with your tickets.
