#3314 closed Bug (fixed)

transmission-2.00 tarballs misses m4 directory

Reported by: Xake Owned by: charles
Priority: Normal Milestone: 2.01
Component: Transmission Version: 2.00
Severity: Normal Keywords:
Cc:

Description

The transission tarball for 2.00 misses directory m4. This leads to autoreconf failing.

$ LC_ALL="C" autoreconf -i -f aclocal-1.11: couldn't open directory `m4': No such file or directory autoreconf-2.65: aclocal failed with exit status: 1

This has created at least issue https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324441 which may seem different since they also try to sed away the need of the m4 directory, and thus it fails for everyone who do not have the ZLIB macro in the local aclocal directory.

This issue is fixed by [10791] and [10792]. I think the tar is updated in homepage. Try redownload the new package.

Downloading the tarballs from frontpage, both 2.00 (i.e. both xz and bz2) still does not contain m4. Please also make some sort of rename/bump on the names, making it 2.00a or something like that, since distributions like gentoo does not really work well together with different files with the same name (since they hash-check all files, uses the source-tarball directly and also mirrors them).

Fixed by the commits mentioned above by elbandi.

2.01 will probably be coming out RSN so it's probably not worth rolling a 2.00a tarball... :/
