(OSX 10.6) Hey, I only use Transmission in short bursts, my ratio is set to 1:1 so once I've finished seeding a file, I don't use Transmission again for a while. However, I really enjoy the convenience of Transmission auto-detecting and adding torrents as I download them from my internet browser, so I always keep it open. So my suggestion is having Transmission run in the background. There could be an option to have Transmission in the dock, or in the menu bar, or neither. Or an option to show Transmission in the dock whenever a torrent is added, and hide when its done seeding. Any way, I would just like an option to hide the icon from the dock when I'm not using it. I donated $5 a while ago. I don't have an easy way to prove it, but I hope it will help influence your consideration of my idea.

Thanks for reading this far, Ian

This is way outside the scope of what we want the app to cover. This crosses the line into bloat.

You might consider running transmission-daemon if you want transmission running unobtrusively in the background all the time.
