#3475 closed Bug (fixed)

"stop seeding when inactive" doesn't appear to work

Description

I set my ratio to 1 and the "stop seeding when inactive" to 1440 minutes (24 hours). After reaching a ration of 0.6, the swarm consisted only of seeders, so there no more peers which to upload. I would have expected the torrent to have been stopped 1440 minutes later if there was no more seeding activity. It's been 3 days now and it's still considered "active", with a recent time listed in it's "last activity" field, even though nothing has been seeded in 3 days.

This is either a bug or my expectations (and documentation) needs adjusting.

Using Mac version r11066.

I updated and the last activity field appears to now reflect reality, but when the threshold is reached, the torrents are paused instead of stopped. I would expect them to be stopped, similar to how the ratio threshold works.

I don't know what you mean when you say "paused instead of stopped"...?

When the inactive limit is reached, the torrent is marked as stopped, but should be marked as finished. This is how the ratio limit behaves.

Being marked as "finished" would be a separate enhancement. Can you open a new ticket for that?

Sorry, but I would consider it a bug, not enhancement, since it doesn't work as expected. On the Mac client, both the ratio and inactive limits are listed together under 'Seeding Limits' and are labeled similarly ('Stop at Ratio', 'Stop When Inactive'), but the new 'inactive' option does not behave as the other option.

Please open a new ticket. The issue in the description was fixed.

And yes, that is an enhancement: the transfer stops when inactive for x minutes.
