#3525 closed Bug (invalid)

transmission not recognized by pidof or killall on Synology NAS

Reported by: steuben Owned by:
Priority: Normal Milestone: None Set
Component: Daemon Version: 2.04
Severity: Normal Keywords:

Description

pidof transmission-daemon or killall <signal> transmission-daemon, for example, return no process ids as both pidof and killall do for all other running programs. This began occurring on Synology DSM-3.0 beta 1264 and continues with 1265 and Transmission-2.04.

As a result, there appears to be no way to communicate via command-line with transmission daemons on the Synology other than with transmission itself.

This is a Synology issue, not a Transmission one. We're not doing anything magic with our process IDs so it's likely that something's changed on the Synology end of things.

You may want to contact the Synology help forums.
