#3575 reopened Enhancement

Web Client should allow viewing/changing bandwith priorities for torrents

Reported by: voyager Owned by: fx
Priority: Normal Milestone: None Set
Component: Web Client Version: 2.82+
Severity: Normal Keywords:

Description

Just like it allows for file priorities.

Maybe the blue dot and orange/green arrow from the file priorities could be adapted for this functionality. They could be placed to the left of the torrents name or above the pause/resume button.

The patch has been working pretty well for a few months, I would really like to see it in the official release.

This is already implemented in gearbox, which is a client in development that may or may not replace the current web client. If you want to give it a test, the source code is at http://github.com/charlesk/gearbox

The HTML UI code is a mess, but this addition shouldn't make it any worse. Someone should really overhaul the way it builds the HTML.

I've disabled priority controls on compact view, as i'm not sure how to stick it in there yet. If one of the devs look over the patch, see if I'm doing everything The Right Way

Looks good, but perhaps behavior needs to be tweaked (or hidden) on iPhone/mobile devices?

What needs to be done to get this applied?

Any update on this? Would be really nice for those of us who can *only* use the web UI (e.g. running on a Drobo).

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from assigned to closed

Actually, never mind! This is already implemented, it just wasn't showing up in my web UI for a while (no idea why). It works for individual files as well as the whole torrent. Marking as fixed (if that's okay).

Bloody hell, that was a long time ago. I completely forgot about this patch. I let the web interface lag behind when upgrading. I'll check out the latest version, hopefully HTML isn't as big of a mess as it was 3 years ago...

Checked out the source, doesn't look like you can change bandwidth priority for the whole torrents. fletom, are you sure your web client was vanilla?

I'm reopening this ticket as I plan to update the patch. I find myself changing priorities via transmission-remote more often than i'd like.
