#3579 closed Bug (invalid)

automatic add complains about hidden files on startup

Reported by: backharlow Owned by: charles
Priority: Normal Milestone: None Set
Component: GTK+ Client Version: 1.93+
Severity: Normal Keywords:

Description

On GTK+ Ubuntu, upon startup, if the automatic add directory contains hidden files (starts with a . like: ".foo.torrent")left over from previously deleted torrents, the client complains because it can't add them. The warning repeats with subsequent startups. It would be better if the default behavior was;

  1. Warn once but give user a "ignore" button that will disregard that warning in the future.
  2. Try to fail silently on trying to add non-valid torrents.

backharlow: Are you using "1.93+" here to indicate the bug was introduced in 1.93?

About the description, I'm not sure I understand the scenario you're describing. How does deleting a torrent file make it show up in the watch directory as a dotfile? I think I'm misunderstanding you.
