trunk fails to connect any more then 3 peers when 1000s are available

Description
using trunk as of r3272 T fails to connect to more then 3 peers when 5000+ are available and it slowly removes the connections until 0 remain then works it was back to 3 and back down again.

jorg: the best solution is to revert back to a build before the encryption branch merge. r3100 seems as good as any, and works for me (four to seven connections after branch merge, fifty or so pre-merge). the encryption support broke something, and is not really ready to be used yet. peer connections post-merge usually last between 2 and 30 seconds for me, though some do stay on for longer than that, and whether or not the connection is encrypted seems irrelevant.

There are so many reasons for this to happen, and the latest trunk is working fine here.
Have you tried this on multiple torrents from multiple trackers? Are you're ports open and forwarded correctly? Is your firewall configured correctly?
