  • Resolution set to worksforme
  • Status changed from new to closed

There have been improvements to this since 2.04. And without more specific details/ideas on how to improve, this ticket is mainly noise.

Replying to AdamK:

I'm not seeing this "several times slower" behavior.

Time to check Fedora 14's DVD:

  • Transmission run # 1: 49 seconds
  • Transmission run # 2: 48 seconds
  • Deluge run # 1: 46 seconds
  • Deluge run # 2: 45 seconds
  • KTorrent run # 1: 47 seconds
  • KTorrent run # 2: 44 seconds

So yes Transmission was a little slower than KTorrent or Deluge, but we're talking about 7% slower, not 200% ("several times slower). If you have more information to back up this claim, please present it.

I do not have the exact measures, but on Linux, I comparet uTorrent (via Wine) and Transmission, on torrent with 150GB of data. uTorrent was much faster, and IO was much more saturated.

Transmission seems to be faster on smaller torrents - maybe it is a big ones problem.
