#4045 closed Bug (worksforme)

Torrent Verification (Verify Local Data)

Reported by: preller Owned by: livings124
Priority: Normal Milestone: Sometime
Component: Mac Client Version: 2.20
Severity: Normal Keywords:
Cc:

Description

transmission is automatically verifying an already downloaded file in the "add window" [Pic1]

now, when i click on the add button while it's checking the file, transmission continues checking the file in the main window itself BUT rejects the already checked data and thinks it's not available as you can see here in [Pic2]

So you're saying any data checked up until you click the Add button is lost? I can't replicate that, and it doesn't make sense since the add button just displays it in the main window - it doesn't actually do anything besides updating interface elements (and starting the download). Are you sure that that part of the data just doesn't happen to be missing, or have changed since creating the torrent file?

yes i'm sure, when i repeat this procedure without clicking on the add button, the torrent gets verified completely.

I still cannot replicate this, and the logic behind it makes sense. When you verify data with and without clicking the add button, is it the same transfer?

We'd like to figure out what's causing this bug for you, but we haven't heard back from you in a while. Could you please provide the requested information? Thanks!

  • Resolution set to worksforme
  • Status changed from new to closed

Please reopen with more information. I can't replicate this, and this doesn't make sense considering the code.

ok more infos. for me, it happens only with files that were downloaded on other machines. i found out that it has nothing to do with the "add button", transmission sometimes generally fails to verify the first few megabytes or even a few small files completely. i always have to re-verify the torrent (via the webclient). i hope that helps!
