#4148 closed Bug (fixed)
Mac client gives inappropriate error if data volume is not mounted
Reported by: | rainhead | Owned by: | livings124 |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | Normal | Milestone: | 2.30 |
Component: | Mac Client | Version: | 2.22 |
Severity: | Normal | Keywords: | |

Description
- move a transfer to an external volume
- quit
- unmount that volume
- open Transmission.app again
- an error dialog suggests you are out of disk space
The error message is incorrect. The correct error message is displayed in the main Transmission window.
The best fix would be not to open an error dialog at all, but to shorten the error message listed below the transfer progress bar so that it will fit legibly, and to automatically resume the transfer when the volume is re-mounted.
Further, in testing this bug against the latest daily build (12242), when I returned to GA (2.22), the transfer in question was listed as being 0% complete. It appears that this problem may be fixed progressively on a file-by-file basis as new data is downloaded. Running "Verify Local Data" had no effect.

There would not, hence moving it to the external drive.

Does anything appear in Console.app when this happens? I thought I had replicated this issue, but I was wrong.

For what it's worth, both / and /VolumesPork? are HFS (journaled, case-sensitive). MacOS 10.6.7, though I think it happened on 10.6.6 as well.

See us r12243 is any better for you.

Yeah, dropping the error dialog is a definite improvement. Connecting the drive doesn't cause the transfer to resume, but hitting the pause/resume button on the transfer works fine. Thanks!

I can't replicate. If you were to start this on your primary drive, would there be enough space?
