Transmission preallocates too much space with partial downloads

Transmission (only tested the mac client) seems to preallocating too many disk space when partial downloading big torrents splitted into several parts (480 GB / files about 25 GB) .

So the interface shows an error, that there isn't enough space for a folder which hasn't been selected to download.

It seems that Transmission tries to preallocate the folders before and after the selected folder as shown in the inspector window.
