#4437 closed Bug (fixed)

Multi file webseeds don't work

Reported by: T_X Owned by: jordan
Priority: Normal Milestone: 2.40
Component: libtransmission Version: 2.33
Severity: Normal Keywords:
Cc:

Description

I've tried transmission 2.32 and 2.33 and with both versions webseeds do not seem to work for multi file torrents.

I've created the according torrent file with mktorrent:

mktorrent -a http://tracker.jamendo.com/announce.php -c "http://www.jamendo.com/ : Free music" -w "http://x-realis.dyndns.org/jamendo" /tmp/jamendo/Lorenzo\'s\ Music\ -\ BAZAR\ --\ Jamendo\ -\ OGG\ Vorbis\ q7\ -\ 2009.05.14\ \[www.jamendo.com\]

I'm also attaching the according torrent file.

With uTorrent 3.0 the same torrent file and its webseed work fine. Also creating a torrent from just one of the ogg-files works fine in transmission, it just seems to be the multiple file webseeding being broken in transmission.

Hi T_X,

Could you please give us a valid .torrent link? I'd like to hear your music. :-)

Hi x190!

Well, that's the point, this .torrent file works fine in μTorrent, but not in transmission. Just asked a random guy on Freenode/#utorrent and for him/her the download starts (warning, it's slow, a residential internet connection). It looks like transmission is not picking up on the provided webseed.

Click on the icon next to the attachment link and it will download just fine.

Replying to KyleK:

Click on the icon next to the attachment link and it will download just fine.

I had that figured out after a good night's sleep! :-) So, there's no seeds from jamendo tracker but songs can be d/led manually (&slowly) in a browser from http://x-realis.dyndns.org/jamendo. No d/l in Transmission. I'll exit stage left now.

I'm still not able to download from the torrent through webseeds.

livings124, it's working for me... although slowly, since the jamendo webserver seems to be slow.

comment:10 Changed 7 years ago by livings124

It's working now, wasn't this morning. Might have been a server issue on their end. T_X, can you confirm this issue's resolved?

Hey guys, thanks a lot, especially jordan for fixing the issue! Works fine now :).

T_X's follow-up ticket in #4463 shows pretty clearly that r12740 is not the right solution for this ticket. Reverted in r12847.

r12848 should fix the issue. In my testing it works on T_X's jamendo attachment.

Please reopen this ticket if there are further problems.

T_X: thanks for tracking down the problem with r12740.
