#4599 closed Enhancement (invalid)

For active torrents, record the time at which we have 0% of data and when we reach 100%, display them in activity pane of webclient

Description

While a torrent is actively downloading, we should save the time stamps at the point where we had 0% of the data and the point at which we reached 100% of the data (pre-verification.)

For the webclient these two pieces of data should be displayed in the activity pane of a given torrent.

This will help establish performance baselines in closed environment (organizations) where BitTorrent? is used for large scale systems deployment.

Could you give more details on the use case for this feature? I'm not sure that I see its purpose.

Do you know of any other BitTorrent? clients that record these statistics?

Transmission already records the date added, completed, and last activity. Putting this in the web client would cover this.

livings124: Not exactly -- the added timestamp isn't necessarily the download-started timestamp. But it would probably be close enough for performance baselines. :)

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

This is not a feature that very many people would use.

IMO a better place for this feature would be in a third-party script that runs in parallel with Transmission and queries it via RPC to gather the desired information.
