#4733 closed Enhancement (wontfix)
Ability to set default tracker for torrent creation

Description
We could have a default tracker preset in the "New Torrent" dialog. This would make torrent creation much easier, no need to go find and copy-paste the tracker's url from the web. I think a good default would be
udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80
(read more about it at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Openbittorrent)
Eventually this default setting could be changed in the preferences dialog/file.
Please tell what you think about this suggestion.
Cheers

Hello, forgot to say I'm using transmission 2.33-2 on Debian testing (wheezy) - GTK interface. I attached a screenshot of the dialog i'm talking about (the "New Torrent" creation dialog box).
The previously used trackers are not remembered for me.

The primary question was: what about making udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80 the default (prefilled) tracker in transmission?
Thanks in advance

thanks for your quick reply.
This suggestion is totally related, so I prefer reopening the ticket instead of creating a new one:
what about adding a setting for this, and an entry in the preferences dialog, like "Use these trackers on torrent creation:" and a text box to set a list of trackers?
This would allow users not having to remind/copypaste tracker addresses for each torrent they release (even more boring if they use several trackers).
If what you meant in comment 1 is that previous trackers are remembered in the Mac client, this is not the case in the Linux client (at least for me, 2.33-2).

Adding really specific options that most users wouldn't care about isn't the right track. I would recommend opening a new ticket to cover remembering previous trackers.

What client is this. The Mac client already saves the tracker list each time it's used.
