Description

A great thing is to use your mobile for remote control and to add torrents thru your mobile. I have installed the bokmarklet extension and it is functioning perfectly on some sites.

On iPhone there is a extension called Safary Download Manager and it can save .torrent files to iPhones file system, with iFile it can be renamed and viewd. These files can be opened with iTransmission, but that downloads the content to my mobile.

Transmission web interface ( remote controlling DNS-320 )on iPhone lacks the option to add .torrent extension files located on the phone. I can only add torrents via URL and in some cases, when adding private torrents, it is not functioning.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

Sorry, but this would not benefit the vast majority of users, since accessing the file system of an iPhone is not possible without jailbreaking.

Dear Support Team!

Users who do not have jailbroken iPhones can also download and add torrent files from the iPhone file system, it is not a must to be jailbroken. Everyone can use freely the iTransmission and also download it from apple store freely, and via safari and an addon that is also provided by apple store, the source torrent file can be downloaded. With that content/extension the source torrent file can be saved into the system, and iTransmission can find all torrent files in the iPhone system.

For the above mentioned I kindly ask you to investigate again this idea.

But if you say that it takes too much time for you to develop this content in transmission web interface, I understand that also. BUT for me your explanation is not sufficient.

I'll be working on this project and see what I can do. I'm not a programmer, but want this enhancement badly, because with bookmarklet there are limited options to download an entire torrent. I think what you have developed is a strong and reliable torrent downloader manager and it has good basis to be developed for various fields.

iTransmission is not on the app store. I don't believe it can be used on a non-jailbroken phone.
