Open a downloaded file directly from Transmission

Description

In many of my use cases, the torrent only contains one file, say a video file. In order to open it in Transmission for Mac, I have to do one of two things: either Quick Look and then open with associated app, or Show in Finder and open from there.

I would greatly appreciate a way to open a file directly from Transmission.

I think using the usual interactions for opening a file from Finder would be appropriate: double-click, Cmd-O, Cmd-Down. I realize, double-click and Cmd-O already have other functions. Personally, I think these interactions should be reassigned. After a torrent is downloaded, IMO it primarily represents the downloaded files, not the torrenting around them. I look at all the information available in the Inspector as _meta_data. The fact that one of the ways to summon the Inspector is Cmd-I, which incidentally is a common OS X shortcut to display metadata.

While this would be convenient, I have closed this in the past because opening data often causes it to modify the data, which causes the data to be partially re-downloaded. Best to make it a little bit more difficult to use files once downloaded.

Sorry, but this comment is very unhelpful. I am opening the files anyway. So the only consequence of this decision is that it is more cumbersome to do so.

There are many files you should not be opening while they are being downloaded. If we could prevent this from outside the app, we would.

My ticket not about opening files that are being downloaded. It’s about files that are done.

And in any case, a user can Quick Look and Reveal in Finder both during the download and after. I am only looking for a shortcut.

Even files that are finished are often slightly modified when opened. Quick Look and Reveal in Finder don't, and add an additional step between opening the files intentionally.
