#5126 closed Bug (wontfix)

Size up and Transmission 2.73 on mac 10.8.2

Reported by: magicmarker90 Owned by: magicmarker90
Priority: Normal Milestone: Sometime
Component: Transmission Version: 2.73
Severity: Normal Keywords: window compact view transmission mac 2.73 sizeup

Description

I have an application called "sizeup". It allows you to arrange windows at various sizes. I like the minimal view of transmission (compact view), but it does not work when i try to sizeup it to the top of the screen (command+option+control+up arrow key). It just glitches, looks like sizeup is still basing it off the "uncompacted" version of transmission.

Can someone fix this bug? I would be very grateful. Thanks

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

I don't know how sizeup determines this. We're not doing anything special for setting the size. It would be better to contact the developer of sizeup.

Ok, sizeup has worked for every application I have used so far. It is likely due to your "automatic" window formatting after changing views. Or you are basing your window size off of the amount of torrents within the window. Sad to see you closed this even though it is a very simple fix on Transmission's end.

The automatic window size is based off the number of torrents in the window.

I will gladly accept the simple fix. Please attach.

Have you contacted the developer of the app that is interacting with this one? I have no idea what it's expecting.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time to contact the developer of Sizeup. I'm sure you have the ability to do so.

here is the email: "support+sizeup@…"

Thanks for your quick response.

Being just another Transmission user and not involved in this Project in any way, I feel the onus is on you, the reporter of this very obscure issue, to contact the author of the other application if you really care about the problem.

I don't think it is fair to assume contacting the developer would be time well spent by the volunteer Transmission developers who are maintaining an application with a very large user base.

I agree, I am not an application developer, nor do I plan on becoming one in the next few years. It will take me many hours to figure this, while you, being a Transmission developer, would be able to do it in less than an hour. Maybe a few more.

Thanks for your comment Robby. I will stop following this thread. Hopefully an update will come!
