Quitting transmission-gtk causes a second nm-applet to open

Description

Whenever I quit transmission-gtk (either File > Quit or right clicking in the notification area > quit), a second nm-applet will open. I'm using Crunchbang Waldorf with Openbox and tint2. All packages are from the repos.

Versions: nm-applet: 0.9.4.1 tint2: 0.11-svn Openbox: 3.5.0 transmission: 2.52-3

  • Version changed from 2.52+ to 2.52

I have no idea why this might be happening. Transmission doesn't do anything about nn-applet at all; it doesn't even know about nm-applet.

A couple of shots in the dark:

  • what happens if you kill -9 transmission-gtk?
  • what happens if you use transmission-qt?
  • what happens if you use a different version of transmission-qt?

I figured this would be a weird one. It took me a bit to decide who to submit this bug to.

Anyway, another nm-applet pops up if I use kill -9 or quit regularly in transmission-qt 2.52. I'll try another version in a bit.

I'm sympathetic to your problem, but this really doesn't sound like a Transmission bug. You might try asking the Crunchbang people if they have any thoughts on why kill -9'ing one app would cause nm-applet to pop up.

I'm going to close this ticket for now. If this does somehow turn out to be a Transmission bug, please reopen the ticket with more information. (Much more information ;)

Thanks!
