#5470 new Bug

magnet control broken in web interface

Reported by: fairshare Owned by:
Priority: Normal Milestone: None Set
Component: Transmission Version: 2.82
Severity: Normal Keywords: magnet, web interface, daemon

Add any magnet url and start downloading it: there is nothing in the list of files in web interface so there is no way to control which files are downloaded and no way to exclude some of them from download.

No stop downloading, copy file from ~/.config/transmission-daemon/torrents to some temporary location. Remove download and and copied torrent - bingo: now you can control which files are downloaded for the very same download.

This is obviously a flow in web interface and/or daemon - the information is clearly out there, it just have to be exposed to the user regardless of how exactly download is initiated.

When you add a magnet to TM, you actually only tell TM to get the torrent with the related hash from "somewhere". Until the torrent itself has been downloaded there just isn't any file info at all, none.

It's not clear to me if the files are still not available in the inspector even after the torrent itself was downloaded. (Metadata complete.)
