Description
After I compiler and install the transmission 2.82 from source code, I create the torrent/down/temp folder and run the command : transmission-daemon -f to create the transmission-daemon folder and some files ( and type ctrl+c to terminate the procedure), then edit the settings.json file. By my experience of using the old version transmission, if these steps finish, I just need type the command transmission-daemon and I can use the webui to control transmission. But in the new version:2.82, although I type this command, I still can't use the webui, if I type /etc/init.d/transmission-daemon to restart the transmission-daemon, then the settings.json setting will recover to initial setting. Please tell me how I can use the transmission by webui, do you know the difference of new version and old version?

Make sure you are editing the same settings file as you are loading in transmission-daemon. Properly stop the daemon before editing settings.json.
