Have the website support Safari Push Notifications for new things like update alerts...

REOPEN THIS TICKET!!!
Redundancy is Good here after Transmission *itself* was hacked! Many users may not see/ignore/not opt into Sparkle update window.... And they may be running the infected Transmission version
More alerts of CRITICAL updates because Transmission itself was hacked *IS* important!!!
Remember, we're talking about less advanced users who don't always update immediately and need *multiple* reminders to be aware of important it is to update

The application already supports automatic updates, and checks daily. Pushing update notifications from the website is redundant, to say the very least.
