#5548 closed Enhancement (wontfix)

Support auto shutdown/restart

Description

Other Bittorrent clients (uTorrent, qBitTorrent) support shutting down the machine after all downloads are completed.

It'd be nice to have this in Transmission too.

I'm using Transmission-gtk version 2.82 (14160) on Arch Linux and it doesn't have this feature (yet).

We have options to auto-stop transfers. Shutting down the computer is something that can be handled with scripts.

Most users don't know how to write a script to shut down their computer since this is OS specific, a menu would be more user friendly.

This isn't something most users need to or should do.

I don't know about most users, but personally, I have a somewhat slow connection and I leave my torrents to download overnight, so having this option shuts down my computer when it isn't being used.

Why shouldn't users do that?
