#5640 new Bug
Duplicate files don't give a sensible RPC answer

Description
I'm using transmission-daemon on debian armhf (raspian jessie), version is 2.82 (14160). I load torrents on it using a firefox extension called "Bitorrent WEBUI", version 0.2.3.0.
In the past I used transmission-daemon 2.52 on raspian weezy, with the same extension (and version), and when I added a duplicate torrent I received a message that the torrent was a duplicate, while now I just get a "torrent loaded correctly" message. The torrent doesn't get added to the queue, which is expected, but there's no more that handy sensible message.
I signaled the bug to the extension dev, and he told me that the (transmission-daemon) WEBUI doesn't give back an error message for duplicates, so its extension can't catch it and let me know, and displays a generic message.
So I think probably transmission daemon isn't sending a sensible error message back: is this a bug? Is this intended? Is it possible to fix it (have the daemon answer like it did in the past)?

- Component changed from Daemon to Transmission
Just an update: I tried the same with transmission version 2.82 (14160), same addon, but on a local machine, and the same happens. I suppose the issue is affecting transmission too, not just transmission-daemon. I changed the "Component" proprierty to "Transmission" to reflect this.
