#576 closed Bug (wontfix)

Ratio setting in Inspector rounds overenthusiastically in Tiger

Reported by: m1b Owned by: livings124
Priority: Low Milestone: None Set
Component: Mac Client Version: 1.02+
Severity: Normal Keywords:

Description

In the Inspector's Options pane under Tiger, if I set Stop Seeding to Stop At Ratio, the number in the editable text field will only display as a rounded integer. Eg, if I set the ratio to "1.49" and hit Enter, the field will display "1"; if I enter "1.5" it will display "2". My system is set to use "." as the decimal separator.

As best I can tell, T is internally using the correct value, it's just displaying it rounded to the nearest integer in this field.

This behavior first appeared in 0.96+.

T doesn't use the correct value internally after all. This means that I cannot manually enter a non-integer ratio as a Stop At value. I had a torrent that was at a ratio of 2.08. I then entered "2.22" in the Stop At field, hit enter, the field contents displayed as "2" and the torrent stopped immediately.

Verified that it's still happening in 1.03.

  • Priority changed from Normal to Low

Since this is a Tiger-only bug, it has lower priority.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

If someone can fix this, please reopen with a patch. The formatters are set up correctly, so this might be a discrepancy with how Tiger and Leopard treat number formatters.
