#592 closed Bug (fixed)

GTK search entry icons

Reported by: infernux Owned by: charles

Component: GTK+ Client Version: 1.00
Severity: Minor Keywords:

Description

Currently you seem to be using a search icon based on the RedHat? theme Bluecurve. This does not blend very well into other icon themes. Why not just use the gtk stock icon "gtk-find" here? The same was done in other applications, such as Evolution and Banshee.

Also, most GTK apps that use such a widget seem to gray out the clear button if there is no text put in. I think this makes sense, as there is nothing to clear if there is no text.

these commits handle the search icon half of the ticket.

the other half of the ticket -- greying out the clear icon -- needs to be handled by libsexy, as that's the widget in question. Our behavior is consistent with other apps using it, such as Rhythmbox. I like your idea, but you need to suggest it upstream. IIRC, libsexy is in gnome.org's bugzilla.
