#5971 closed Enhancement (fixed)

Provide a way to expand one level in file list

Reported by: werrel3 Owned by: mike.dld
Priority: Normal Milestone: 2.90
Component: Qt Client Version: 2.84
Severity: Normal Keywords:

Navigating to a file in the file list of a torrent with a very large number of nested folders is inconvenient. The file list defaults to all folders expanded. My options are:

1) Scroll through a very long list 2) Scroll through to each top level folder and close it.

I can close the root folder then open it either by clicking on the arrow or pressing '+'. But if the child folders were previously expanded, they will be expanded again when I press '+'. QTreeView does not appear to have a keybinding that always only opens one level.

What I would like is to either have some method of only opening a folder to one level so I can close the root folder then navigate to the file of interest by opening folders one level at a time. Alternatively if the default was to not expand the entire tree I could also easily navigate to a file without having to close dozens of folders.

Should be already fixed in recent revisions: I've changed it to only expand up to the first level with two or more directories but not further. Will you be able to build Transmission from source to try it out?
