Using gcc (GCC) 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-1ubuntu2)

This is the error output:

Hi crf, thanks for the bug report.

You did the right thing reporting this upstream to the libevent people -- we don't modify their code in any way; we just use it directly from their svn tree.

I notice this #error is no longer in the libevent branch we use:
