I believe that another option should be added to the "Sort Transfers By" menu. I believe that a "Sort By Ratio" would be a good option here. What differentiates this from sorting by progress is that this would only look at the ratio to sort. Sorting by progress sorts by % of the torrent downloaded.
On some sites, your membership is tracked by your upload and download values. It would be nice to see, in order, which torrents you have helped share the most ranked over the ones that should continue to share. This is impossible with sorting by progress if you do not download every file associated with a torrent file. But with a Sort By Ratio option, you can see how much you've shared even within partial downloads.
