Transmission Architecture

Transmission is fundamentally a Bit Torrent client. Beyond that Transmission comes in several different products based around a common core libTransmission?.

The different transmission products are:

• Transmission-Desktop
  • Mac OS X version
  • Linux/GTK+ version
  • Qt version
• Transmission-Server
• Transmission-Web
• Transmission-Commandline

As well as being a Bit Torrent client, Transmission also supports remote control - whereby an authorised user may control the Transmission client from another machine using either web browser or command line interfaces. The different control combinations are shown below
